Creating a Model Order
A model order can be used
to import pre-defined part numbers into an existing order. Some common uses of a model order are:
New Account Initial Stocking Orders
Parts Packages (Merchandiser w/Parts)
Promotions
When you create a model
order, Codis allows you to assign a synonym to the model order for convenience
in order entry.
To create a model order
use Order Entry ( option #1) form the Order Entry Functions menu.

At the ship-to prompt,
type “MODEL” <enter>.
Figure 2 (click on thumbnail for a larger view)
The order header indicates
this is a model order used as a template for inclusion into a new order. Press <enter>.

Enter a description of the
model order or you can associate a synonym to the model order by typing a
manufacturer code-comma-part number.
Creating a synonym would allow you to enter the synonym in order entry
at the part number prompt instead of “/MOD” to search for the model order
associated with it.
Figure 4 (click on thumbnail for a larger view)
In figure 4, a synonym of
M570,BPS has been assigned to the model order.
Enter the part number or
part numbers you want to include in the model order. Override the price for each part that you
want to retain a special price. If you
don’t override the price Codis will price the items at the customer’s default
price when the model order is imported into a new order. A price that has been overridden will retain
the special price.
Figure 5 (click on thumbnail for a larger view)
Figure 5 is an example of
a “Buy 10 – Get 1 Free” promotion. Since
the price of the part on line 1 has not been overridden and the price of the
part on line 2 has been overridden, then the customer will receive 10 of the
part on line 1 at his regular price and 1 of the part on line 2 at no charge.
Finish the model
order. Now you’re ready to use the model
order and the associated synonym.
In the this example, when
in order entry at the part number prompt and the customer orders the “Special”
type “BPS” <enter>. Codis will ask
you for a quantity. Enter the quantity
of the number of specials, i.e. how many “Buy 10 – Get 1 Free” specials does he want.
Note: You can edit a model order, thereby allowing
the same synonym to be used time and again.
